LAHORE: Assembly Members from various districts called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif here today and apprised him of the pace of ongoing development projects and problems of the people of their respective areas.
Talking to the parliamentarians, the Chief Minister said that Punjab government is implementing a comprehensive strategy for the elimination of poverty, ignorance and unemployment from the province and development projects are being executed within timeframe and in a transparent manner. He said that provision of basic facilities to the masses and solution of their problems is the top priority of the government and solid measures are being taken for this purpose. He said that a large number of flood affectees have returned to their homes and government is implementing rehabilitation and reconstruction programme in the flood-hit areas expeditiously. He said that modern villages equipped with the latest facilities are being constructed with the help of philanthropists in place of the villages washed away by the flood while free seeds and fertilizers are being provided to farmers of flood-hit areas to revive agri economy. The Chief Minister asked Assembly Members to maintain a close contact with the people and utilize all their energies for the solution of their problems.
